1The addition to Herbert Hoover Middle School is designed to house the 8th Grade Class of approximately 125 student in a "House Configuration" with 14 classrooms (900sq ft), a developmental reading room (900sq ft), 2 Team Work rooms (450sq ft), toilet rooms for staff and students, 2 book storage rooms (900sq ft), and commons area with clerestory above. The total gross square footage is approximately 24,000sq ft.

The addition to the existing building is (2) two stories tall located at the South West corner and is entered off the double loaded corridor on the first and second levels. There is no basement, the building will be built on a structured slab. The first floor houses mechanical and electrical spaces, directly adjacent to the existing building and the existing elevator tower. The floor to floor for the first floor is 12'-0" and the floor to underside of structure for the second floor is 12'-8". The walls will be clad with brick backed by a CMU cavity wall system.
